Please contact us for more details: admin@pacificlearningcenter.orgApplied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), also referred as behavior intervention or behavioral treatment utilizes methods of scientific principles of behavior to bring about comprehensive and enduring improvements in a wide range of skills for most people with Autism.
Research shows that many ABA techniques are effective for building skills of all ages. The 1987 Lovaas study illustrates that 47% of children who received early intensive behavioral intervention attained normal cognitive and intellectual functioning and were able to complete first grade with typical peers and without special education supports kinds of children with autism and related disorders. It is also proven to be effective in helping individuals and families manage some difficult behaviors that may accompany autism and related disorders without the side effects of drugs or other treatments. ABA has been use successfully with different kinds of learners of all ages with and without disabilities in different setting.
It is should be noted, however, that intensive behavioral intervention is not a “cure” for autism. Intensive behavioral intervention is effective in remediating many symptoms of autism thereby recovering children in that they may become “indistinguishable from their peers.
